Aquatic Edge, based in Greensburg PA (near Pittsburgh) has been given one of the highest honors in the pond and water feature building industry by being named the 2020 Artist of the Year. The yearly award is given to one Pond-Building Contractor who embodies the heart and soul of artistic pond building as determined by Aquascape Inc, and previous recipients of the award.

Aquascape first began acknowledging their choice of Artist of the Year in 2011. In recent years, they have adopted a voting format which allows all past recipients to have a say in who receives the next award. 2020 marks the tenth year for this coveted award, which has been given to Aquatic Edge whom are coincidentally in their tenth year of business in the Pittsburgh area.

"I cannot fully describe to you how honored, excited, and humbled I feel in being named Artist of the Year", says owner and project designer of Aquatic Edge, Tim Wood. "To be recognized by Aquascape and other Pond Builders in this industry whom I have looked up to for the last ten years, and continue to look up to for artistic inspiration, means the world to me. I had a dream many years ago that this day may someday happen. I wasn't sure when, if ever, we would be given this honor. It's like this ultimate goal that you always have to look forward to, and now that it is here I just can't believe it! I am beyond proud of my team for this accomplishment."

"And I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that there are many people that helped me get to this point. My colleagues - both local and across the country - who I have had the pleasure of working with and learning from, all our team members (past and present), and of course my family for being so supportive and encouraging."

Now that Aquatic Edge has been named Aquascape's Artists of the Year, what is the next step?

Wood says "You can always get better, and I think there is a lot more refining and evolving that can be done with our style. There's no quit in me. I'm looking forward to the opportunities that this recognition will give us to continue learning from those I look up to, and also helping others in our industry to hone their skills at building naturalistic water features."
